Espumisan contains the active substance simethicone, which belongs to a group of medicines called “gastrointestinal substances”. The active ingredient Espumisan, simethicone, breaks down gas bubbles accumulated in the stomach and intestines. Gases released in this way may be released naturally.
Espumisan® comfort 100 mg/ml oral drops, emulsion is used:
for the symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal disorders associated with gas formation, for example. accumulation of gases in the intestines (flatulence), flatulence.
Under medical supervision:
for the symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal disorders associated with gas formation, for example. with an increased amount of gases in the intestines after operations;
as preparation for abdominal diagnostic procedures (eg x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopic examination or as an adjunct to contrast agent)
Dosage and method of administration
The recommended dose is:
Infants: 5-10 drops added to milk bottle at each feeding or given to infant from a small spoon immediately before each feeding.
1–6 years: 10 drops 3–5 times a day.
6–14 years: 10–20 drops 3–5 times a day.
Teenagers and adults: 20 drops 3-5 times a day.
