Zovirax Duo can be used by adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over.
Zovirax Duo Cream is used to treat the first signs and symptoms of cold sores on the lip and face (eg itching, tingling or redness) to reduce the chance of the cold sore developing into a blister.
Even if you develop a blister, Zovirax Duo will shorten the healing time by approximately half to one day compared to a cream without active ingredients.
Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus. This virus causes blisters and cold sores especially on the lip, but sometimes on other parts of the face as well. Cold sores can develop if your body’s immune system (defense system) is weakened, such as with a cold or other infection. Stress, strong sunlight, cold temperatures or menstruation can also lead to the development of cold sores.
