Expectorant No. 5 has an expectorant and antimicrobial effect, relaxes the smooth muscles of the bronchi.
Medicinal substances have a softening effect and suppress the cough reflex, facilitate expectoration, have an antimicrobial effect and relax smooth muscle spasms; the effect of potassium bromide is soothing, and sodium benzoate and ammonium chloride dilute phlegm.
Dosage and method of administration
Recommended dosage:
Adults and children over 12 years old – 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 3 times a day after meals.
Contraindications

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic (hypersensitivity) to the active substance and/or any of the excipients.
Treatment can last 7-10 days.
It should be prescribed with caution to patients receiving treatment with CNS depressants (hypnotics, for the treatment of neuroses).
It is not recommended to take EXPECTORAN No. 5 during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
