Action
The action of Akodin Duo is due to two ingredients: dextromethorphan and dexpanthenol.

Dextromethorphan inhibits the cough center located in the medulla oblongata. In the doses used, it does not inhibit the action of the ciliary apparatus of the bronchi (the structure responsible for the transport of secreted mucus).

Dexpanthenol, participating in metabolic processes, has a positive effect on the regeneration of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Indications
Akodin Duo is used for the symptomatic treatment of non-productive cough (dry cough) of various origins.

Contraindications
Do not use Akodin Duo:

if you are allergic to dextromethorphan, dexpanthenol, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
if you are simultaneously taking medicines called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs, certain medicines for depression, Parkinson’s disease), or have taken such medicines in the past 14 days,
if you have or are at risk of respiratory failure.
