The use of retinol is acceptable all year round, but in the spring and summer it is worth switching to a lower concentration, and if you plan on increased sun exposure, stop using it completely in about 4 weeks.
HOW TO USE:
Retinol treatment is carried out in the autumn-winter season (from approximately September to March/April). When using retinol in skin care, use high sun protection SPF50+ during the day and avoid sun exposure. It should also be remembered that during retinol treatment, the skin requires increased hydration and regeneration.
We always start using retinol with a lower concentration, i.e. 0.5%, both when carrying out treatment for the first time and when resuming it after a long break.
We introduce retinol gradually, using it every 4-5 evenings for the first 2 weeks. Every two weeks we reduce the interval between applications by 1 day.
Apply it only once a day, only in the evening, to clean and dry skin, avoiding the eye area.
When you first introduce retinol into your routine, apply it yourself to observe how your skin reacts. Ultimately, about 30-40 minutes after applying retinol, you can apply a moisturizing and regenerating product, for example, a ceramide serum and/or a lipid winter cream.
In the first weeks of use, you may notice redness, dryness or irritation of the skin, as well as flaking – this is the result of the formation of skin tolerance to this active substance.
We switch to a higher concentration of retinol as early as possible, when the skin tolerates the use of a lower concentration, at least 4-5 times a week.
We also introduce higher concentrations “again”, building skin tolerance – first every 4 days, gradually increasing the frequency over time.
