The drugs Magnefar B6 Bio and Magnefar B6 Forte are recommended for the treatment of magnesium deficiency.
The following symptoms may indicate magnesium deficiency:
nervousness, irritability, mood swings, mild anxiety, restlessness, temporary fatigue, lethargy, mild sleep disturbances;
anxiety symptoms such as gastrointestinal cramps or rapid heartbeat (without heart problems);
muscle spasms, tingling, eyelid twitching.
Compound
Magnesium ions [as magnesium citrate (Magnesii citras)], 100 mg
Pyridoxine hydrochloride (Pyridoxini hydrochloridum), 10.1 mg
Dosage for treating magnesium deficiency
Adults:
5-6 tablets per day in 2-3 doses with meals.
Children and youth:
For children, dosage recommendations are as follows:
Age Body weight Drug dose
6–14 years 21–30 kg 3–4 tablets per day, in 2 or 3 divided doses, with meals
31–39 kg 4–5 tablets per day, in 2 or 3 divided doses, with meals
14–18 years ≥ 40 kg 5–6 tablets per day, in 2 or 3 divided doses, with meals
The medicine should not be used in children under 6 years of age and weighing less than 20 kg.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
Magnefar B6 Bio, Magnefar B6 Forte should not be used in cases of hypermagnesemia, acute renal failure (creatinine clearance <30 ml/min), significant arterial hypotension, atrioventricular block and myasthenia gravis.
