The active substance of Biosteron 10 mg is dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). DHEA is an inactive substance used for the synthesis of sex hormones. In various tissues (e.g. mammary gland, prostate gland, reproductive organs, skeletal muscles, bones), DHEA is transformed into estrogens – in women and androgens – in men. The highest concentrations of DHEA in serum occur in youth (2nd and 3rd decades of life), followed by a slow decline in its concentration in blood, reaching the level of people aged 80.
