Indication.
For the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the periodontium and mucous membrane of the oral cavity.
Catarrhal, hypertrophic gingivitis, acute and chronic course.
Acute ulcerative-necrotic gingivitis (Vincent’s gingivitis).
Generalized periodontitis, chronic and acute course.
Injury to the mucous membrane of the oral cavity caused by dental prostheses.
Alveolitis (inflammation of the socket after tooth extraction).
For the prevention of exacerbations of chronic gingivitis and periodontitis.
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity to metronidazole, chlorhexidine, as well as nitroimidazole derivatives and any components included in the medicinal product. Contraindicated in patients with confirmed blood dyscrasia or history of blood dyscrasia. Contraindicated in patients with diseases of the peripheral and central nervous system.
Method of application and dosage.

For adults with inflammation of the gums (gingivitis), apply Dentagel® gel to the gums with finger massage or a cotton swab 2 times a day. After applying the gel for

In case of periodontitis: after removing the dental deposits, the periodontal pockets should be treated with Dentagel® gel, and the gel should also be applied to the gums. The duration of the application is 30 minutes. The number of procedures depends on the severity of the disease. In the subsequent application of the gel, the patient does it himself. Apply Dentagel® to the gum area 2 times a day for 7-10 days.
To prevent exacerbations of chronic gingivitis and periodontitis, apply Dentagel® gel to the gums 2 times a day for 7-10 days. Preventive treatment courses should be carried out 2-3 times a year.
For the treatment of post-extraction alveolitis, treat the hole with Dentagel® gel after tooth extraction, then apply the gel independently 2-3 times a day for 7-10 days.
For the prevention of exacerbations of chronic gingivitis and periodontitis, with bleeding gums and bad breath – in the evening, after hygienic brushing of the teeth, the Dentagel® gel should be rubbed into the area of the gums with the help of finger massage for 2-3 minutes, after rubbing, spit out, do not rinse the mouth.
In order to prevent exacerbations in patients with catarrhal gingivitis and mild generalized periodontitis, in the morning and in the evening after hygienic brushing of the teeth with the help of finger massage, the Dentagel® gel should be rubbed into the gums for 2-3 minutes, after the procedure one should refrain from rinsing the mouth and drinking liquids for 1 hours Preventive treatment courses lasting 2 weeks should be carried out 2-3 times a year.
Children.
It is not recommended to prescribe the drug to children under 18 years of age.
Overdose.
Cases of overdose of Dentagel® gel with local application are unknown.
Accidental or intentional ingestion of a large amount of gel can lead to exacerbation of adverse reactions that were initially caused by metronidazole (chlorhexidine is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract). These reactions include nausea, vomiting, dizziness. In more serious cases, paresthesia and convulsions may occur. High doses and long-term systemic treatment with metronidazole are associated with the development of leukopenia, neutropenia, increased risk of peripheral neuropathy and central nervous system toxicity. As a treatment, it is necessary to wash the stomach and, if necessary, carry out symptomatic therapy.
