Topical treatment of vulvovaginal yeast infection, regardless of whether it is infected with gram-negative bacteria.
In most cases (77.5%), the yeast infection affects both the vagina and the vulva, hence the term vulvovaginal yeast infection. The infection then manifests itself as itching, irritation, redness and swelling of the mucous membrane, a burning sensation when urinating and a white, odorless, very characteristic discharge.
Practical tips:
Toilet with neutral or alkaline pH soap.
Treatment will be accompanied by hygienic recommendations (wearing cotton underwear, avoiding douching, avoiding wearing internal tampons during treatment…) and, as far as possible, eliminating factors that favor this. .
Do not stop treatment during menstruation.
Partner treatment will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
For the treatment of vulvar or perianal mycosis, it is recommended to combine it with gynecological antifungal agents when applied topically.
