Storage:
active substance: hexetidine;
1 g of the drug contains hexetidine (in terms of 100% substance) 2 mg;
excipients: sodium saccharinate; citric acid, monohydrate; sodium hydroxide; glycerin; ethanol (96%); macrogol lauryl ether; cineole (eucalyptol); levomenthol; peppermint oil; the water is purified.
Pharmaceutical form. Spray for the oral cavity.
Main physicochemical properties: the drug is sprayed in the form of an aerosol jet and forms a transparent, almost colorless liquid with a characteristic menthol smell.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Means for use in stomatology. Antimicrobial and antiseptic drugs for local use in dentistry. Hexetidine. ATX code A01A B12.
Indication.
HEXOSEPT®, spray, is used for minor infections of the oral cavity, including candidiasis; as an auxiliary means for the prevention and treatment of gingivitis; in the treatment of sore throat and recurrent aphthous ulcers; to eliminate bad breath; before and after surgical operations in dentistry.
Contraindication.
HEXOSEPT®, spray, contraindicated:
– in the presence of increased sensitivity to hexetidine or to any other component of the medicinal product;
– patients with bronchial asthma or with any other diseases of the respiratory tract associated with the existing increased sensitivity of the respiratory tract. Inhalation may cause bronchoconstriction;
– atrophic pharyngitis.
Method of application and dosage.
Adults and children over 6 years old
Before use, remove the protective cap and put a sprayer on the valve stem. Before the first use of the medicinal product, press the sprayer head several times (4-6 times) until a dispersed jet appears. Before each subsequent use, make 2 presses so that the solution enters the sprayer and after pressing it sprays, after which the medicine can be used. During use, direct the outlet of the sprayer to the affected area of the mouth or throat and press the sprayer head with the index finger from top to bottom. When using the medicine, you should hold your breath, and hold the balloon vertically so that the atomizer is on top; it is not possible to use the balloon in an inverted position.
After using the medicine, remove the sprayer from the valve stem and rinse with warm water; put a protective cap on the cylinder.
Apply no more than 3 times a day (depending on the severity of the disease or the doctor’s recommendations).
The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually, depending on the degree of severity and features of the course of the disease.
Do not use to treat long-term symptoms.
Do not inhale, it can cause laryngospasm.
You should consult a doctor before starting to use the medicine.
Children.
Do not use HEXOSEPT®, spray, for children under 6 years of age.
Overdose.
Swallowing large amounts of the spray causes nausea, so significant absorption will not occur.
Due to the absorption of a sufficient amount of the drug HEXOSEPT®, spray, alcohol intoxication may occur due to the content of ethyl alcohol.
The concentration of hexetidine contained in HEXOSEPT®, spray, is not toxic if the medicine is used as prescribed.
There are no cases of excessive use of hexetidine leading to the occurrence of hypersensitivity reactions.
In case of overdose, seek medical help immediately.
Expiration date. 2 years.
The medicine should not be used after the expiration date indicated on the package.
Storage conditions.
Store in a place inaccessible to children at a temperature not higher than 25 °C.
Packaging.
25 g each in a cylinder with a pump-type valve, a sprayer and a protective cap; 1 cylinder in a pack.
