Mezim forte tablets contain substances (enzymes) from the pig pancreas (pancreas powder, also called pancreatin) that support digestion. Used for reduced or absent pancreatic function (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency).
Dosage and method of administration
Recommended dosage:
from 2 to 4 tablets Mezim forte 10000 Ph. Euro. IU with meals (equivalent to 20,000-40,000 IU of lipase per meal).
Dosage of Mezima forte 10000 Ph. Euro. U. is determined by the severity of the existing digestive disorder. The required dose may be even higher. Greater dosage increases are only possible under medical supervision and to improve symptoms (eg, fatty, bulky stools, abdominal pain). The daily dose of the enzyme should not exceed 15,000–20,000 lipase units per kilogram of body weight.
Tablets Mezim forte 10000 Ph. EUR, ED should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid (water or juice) during meals.
Please note that the tablets must be swallowed whole.
Contraindications

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic (hypersensitivity) to the active substance and/or any of the excipients.
There is insufficient data on the use of Mezim forte 10000 Ph. Euro. U. in pregnant women.
Active Ingredients
One gastro-resistant tablet contains 80–111 mg of pancreatin (porcine pancreas powder), which is equivalent to at least the following activity:

Amylase is no less nutty (like a hot drink).
Excipients
Core: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.) (vegetable).
Shell: hypromellose, methacrylic acid copolymer – ethyl acrylate (1:1 dispersion) 30%, triethyl citrate, talc, simethicone emulsion consisting of simethicone, methylcellulose, sorbic acid (Ph. Eur), water; macrogol 6000, carmellose sodium, polysorbate 80 (vegetable), azorubine (dye E 122), titanium dioxide, sodium hydroxide.
