Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) are fats that occur naturally in both coconut and palm kernel oil, but NOW ® Sport Organic MCT Oil is derived exclusively from organic coconut oil. MCTs can be digested more easily and quickly than other fats. They are easily absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract and utilized very quickly by the liver. There they are intended to promote the use of fat for energy rather than fat storage. Numerous studies suggest that replacing other fats with MCT oil in a healthy diet can therefore help support a healthy weight and body composition.

Typical C8 and C10 composition:

50–80% caprylic acid (C8)

20%–50% capric acid (C10)

Recommended use
Take 1 tablespoon (15 ml) daily. MCT oil can also be used as a replacement for traditional oils in salad dressings, sauces or for cooking. Because of its low smoke point, the oil is not recommended for frying.
