Pharmacodynamics.
Rekutan® has a number of effects due to the chemical substances included in the extract of chamomile flowers. In particular, the drug has an anti-inflammatory effect (suppresses exudative processes), a wound-healing effect (stimulates tissue regeneration), and also has a certain antiseptic effect. Rekutan® does not have a local irritant effect. Long-term use of the drug does not cause a negative effect on the body.

Clinical characteristics.
Indication.
It is used as a separate remedy or in complex therapy for inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity (stomatitis, gingivitis, glossitis, periodontitis), for diseases of the upper respiratory tract (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, including after tonsillectomy); in proctology – with hemorrhoids; in gynecology – locally for inflammatory processes, cervical erosion; for prophylactic treatment of the vagina before caesarean section. The drug is used in the form of rinses, inhalations, enemas, baths.
It is used internally for chronic gastritis, colitis, enterocolitis, peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum.
Contraindication. Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions. Interaction with medicinal products is not yet known.
Features of application.
Do not use undiluted drug. When using the drug, you should not exceed the recommended doses. Patients with a history of increased sensitivity to plants of the Asteraceae/Compositae family (ambrosia, chrysanthemums, calendula, daisy) are more prone to the development of allergic reactions when using drugs that contain chamomile extract.
Ethanol (when used internally). This medicinal product contains no more than 3.0 g/dose of ethanol (alcohol). Harmful for patients suffering from alcoholism. It should be used with caution in women who are breastfeeding, children, patients with liver diseases and patients with epilepsy.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Do not prescribe the drug during pregnancy. During breastfeeding, the drug should be used only as prescribed by a doctor.
The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.
It should be taken into account that a single dose of the drug contains 5% ethanol, so when using the drug internally, you should refrain from driving a vehicle or working with other mechanisms.
Method of application and dosage.
For diseases of the oral cavity – for rinsing: dissolve 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of the drug in a glass (200 ml) of water. In case of periodontitis, turunds are soaked in this solution and inserted into the gum pockets for 10-15 minutes every day for 3-7 days.
For diseases of the upper respiratory tract, a solution is used for daily inhalations: 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of the drug are dissolved in a glass (200 ml) of water, used for 10 days.
In diseases of the stomach and duodenum (chronic gastritis, colitis, enterocolitis, peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum), the extract is taken internally in the form of a solution: for adults, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of the drug per ½ cup (100 ml) of warm water 20 minutes before eat 2-4 times a day.
For hemorrhoids, it is used in the form of enemas and baths: 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of the drug per glass (200 ml) of warm water 2-3 times a day.
For vaginal washing – 2-3 tablespoons (30-45 ml) of the drug per 1 liter of warm water 2-3 times a day for 3-4 weeks.

Overdose. There are no data.
Adverse reactions. With individual hypersensitivity to chamomile, allergic reactions are possible (hyperemia, skin itching, rash, urticaria, Quincke’s edema, anaphylactic shock).
Expiration date. 2 years.
Storage conditions. Store in the original packaging at a temperature not higher than 25 ºС.
