Theraflu Forte from GlaxoSmithKline is designed to relieve colds and coughs. A combination of paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride and guaifenesin relieves symptoms of flu, chills, fever, nasal congestion and productive cough. Paracetamol relieves pain and fever by lowering the temperature. Phenylephrine hydrochloride helps unblock the nose and reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa. Guaifenesin breaks down secretions and helps with expectoration. Theraflu Forte from GlaxoSmithKline is available in a package of 16 capsules.
Dosage and method of administration
The recommended dose for adolescents over 16 years of age and adults weighing more than 50 kg is 2 capsules. If necessary, drink water every 4-6 hours.
Contraindications
Do not use for more than 3 days. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist or worsen after the third day, or if the cough is accompanied by fever, skin rash, or persistent headache.
Active Ingredients
Paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride, guaifenesin. Each capsule contains paracetamol 500 mg, phenylephrine hydrochloride 6.1 mg (equivalent to 5 mg phenylephrine base), guaifenesin 100 mg.
Excipients
croscarmellose sodium, corn starch, sodium lauryl sulfate. Talc, magnesium stearate. The capsule shell contains: gelatin, purified water, indigo carmine (E132), titanium dioxide (E171), quinoline yellow (E 104), sodium lauryl sulfate, erythrosine (E127).
