What is Vectavir 1% Cream?

Vectavir is a topical antiviral cream used to treat Herpes labialis (cold sores).

• Applied externally to affected areas of the lips or surrounding skin.

How to Use Vectavir

• Suitable for adults and children 12 years and older.

• Apply at the first sign of a cold sore, such as tingling, itching, or burning.

• Dosage: Apply a thin layer every 2 hours while awake, for 4 days.

• Wash hands before and after each application.

• Avoid excessive application or contact with eyes, inside of mouth, or broken skin.

1. Wash your hands thoroughly.

2. Apply a small amount of cream to the affected area.

3. Spread gently to cover the cold sore.

4. Wash hands immediately after application.

5. Repeat every 2 hours during waking hours for 4 days.

Precautions and Warnings

• Do not use in children under 12 years old.

• Do not use if allergic to penciclovir or any excipients (e.g., cetostearyl alcohol, propylene glycol).

• Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and broken skin.
