Lomexin cream 2% in a 15 g tube is a drug recommended for the treatment or auxiliary treatment of certain diseases of the skin or mucous membranes (mycoses) caused by microscopic fungi (candidiasis, dermatophytosis, tinea versicolor).
Mycosis: causes
Candidiasis: Yeast infection is most often caused by Candida albicans, a fungus that usually lives in the digestive tract and genital mucous membranes. In the presence of predisposing factors, Candida can become pathogenic for the skin, nails and mucous membranes.
Dermatophytosis: Some dermatophytes are transmitted by humans (clothing, contaminated soil, etc.), others by animals (cats, dogs, horses, etc.). These are fungi foreign to the body and always pathogenic. They come in three types: Tricophyton (on the skin, nails and hair), Microsporum (on the skin and scalp), Epidermophyton (on bare skin).
Pityrosporosis: These are caused by Malassezia Furfur, a yeast that lives on the skin from birth. Pityrosporum orbiclee is the causative agent of pityriasis versicolor, a fairly common summer mycosis.
