Main physical and chemical properties: colorless transparent liquid.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Antihemorrhagic agents. Inhibitors of fibrinolysis.
Indication.

Treatment and prevention of influenza and SARS in children and adults.

Contraindication.

Increased sensitivity to the drug. Tendency to thrombosis and thromboembolic diseases; coagulopathy due to diffuse intravascular blood coagulation; kidney disease with impaired kidney function; thromboembolism, renal failure, hematuria, childbirth; pregnancy or breastfeeding; severe form of ischemic heart disease, impaired cerebral circulation.
Method of application and dosage.

For the purpose of prevention and treatment of influenza and acute respiratory viral infection, the drug should be used
locally (0.5-1.0 ml in the nose 3-4 times a day) and orally.

With local application, it is recommended to insert into the nasal passages every 3-4 hours
For 5–10 minutes, use cotton swabs moistened with a 5% solution of aminocaproic acid, or instill 3–5 drops of the solution into each nasal passage at the indicated times.

If necessary, aminocaproic acid can be used in combination with other antiviral drugs and interferon and its inducers.

Intranasal instillations of aminocaproic acid (3-4 times a day) should be carried out during the period of the flu epidemic for the purpose of prevention, which should be supplemented with enteral (as in treatment) application of the drug in foci of infection when in contact with the patient.

For oral use, it is recommended to use aminocaproic acid in 100 ml bottles.

The drug should be prescribed orally to children in doses:

– children under two years of age – 1–2 g (20–40 ml of 5% solution per day) – 1–2 teaspoons each
4 times a day (0.02–0.04 g/kg – a single dose), can be added to food or drinks;

– children aged 2 to 6 years – 2–4 g (40–80 ml of 5% solution per day) –
2-4 teaspoons or 1 tablespoon 4 times a day or by dividing the daily dose into 4 doses;

– children aged 7 years and older and adults – 4–5 g (80–100 ml of 5% solution per day), dividing the daily dose into 4 doses. 20 or 25 ml at a time, i.e. 4 or 5 containers.

For more accurate dosing of the solution, it is advisable to use a medical syringe without a needle with a volume of 10 or 20 ml.

The duration of oral administration of aminocaproic acid for influenza and SARS is 3–7 days.

The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and is determined by the doctor individually. The doctor can also adjust the dose and prescribe a repeat course of treatment.

Children.

There are no data on limiting the use of the drug for children.

Overdose.

Sudden decrease in fibrinolytic activity of blood. Pronounced side effect symptoms: dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, skin rash, orthostatic hypotension, convulsions, headache, nasal congestion, acute renal failure, rhabdomyolysis, myoglobinuria. Strengthening of adverse reactions, formation of blood clots and embolism. With long-term use (more than 6 days) of high doses (for adults – more than 24 g per day) – hemorrhages.

Treatment. In case of overdose, stop the administration of the medicinal product and carry out appropriate symptomatic therapy.
Storage conditions.

Store at a temperature not higher than 25 °C in the original packaging. Keep out of the reach of children.
