APO-OME is used for the short-term and long-term treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, duodenal and gastric ulcer disease associated with bacterial infection of the stomach (helicobacter pylori), duodenal and gastric ulcers caused by the administration of drugs against pain and joint and muscle inflammation (non-steroidal anti-rheumatic drugs – antiphlogistics), inflammation of the esophagus caused by the return of stomach contents into the esophagus (reflux esophagitis), diseases with symptoms (e.g. heartburn) caused by the return of stomach contents into the esophagus (symptomatic reflux disease of the esophagus), digestive problems manifested by pain in the epigastrium and other parts of the abdomen, heartburn, the return of acidic or bitter stomach contents into the esophagus and a general disorder of appetite (dyspepsia), excessive secretion of stomach acid due to increased production of the gastrin hormone from a pancreatic tumor (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome). APO-OME is also used to prevent aspiration of gastric contents during surgery in patients under general anesthesia (prophylaxis of aspiration of gastric contents). The product can be used by adults, adolescents and children weighing more than 20 kg.
