Duroferon can also be used preventively against iron loss and iron deficiency in blood donors.
Duroferon is an iron preparation. The tablets are made in such a way that the iron is dissolved little by little so that it is supplied evenly to the blood over a longer period of time. In this way, the iron is used better, while the risk of side effects in the form of malaise and stomach pain is less than with ordinary iron tablets.
Duroferon should not be taken together with food and drink containing calcium (e.g. milk) because it reduces the absorption of the medicine.
Duroferon must not be split or chewed but must be swallowed whole with at least 1/2 glass of water. Should be used with caution by those with swallowing problems.
How to use the product:
Adults and teenagers: 1 tablet morning and/or evening.
In case of proven iron deficiency during pregnancy: 1 tablet morning and evening. To fill the iron stores, the treatment should be continued for approx. 2 months after birth.
