Storage:

active substance: 1 tablet contains levamisole hydrochloride 150 mg;

excipients: corn starch, lactose monohydrate, povidone, stearic acid.

Medicinal form. Tablets.

Main physico-chemical properties: tablets of white or almost white color, flat-cylindrical shape, with a bevel and a line.
Indications. Ascaridosis, necatorosis, hookworm disease.

Contraindication. Hypersensitivity to levamisole or excipients.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions. Disulfiram-like symptoms are observed when the drug is taken simultaneously with alcohol.

Levamisole should be used with caution with drugs that affect hematopoiesis.

With simultaneous use of the drug with coumarin-like anticoagulants, the prothrombin time may increase, so it is necessary to adjust the dose of the oral anticoagulant.

The drug increases the level of phenytoin in the blood, therefore, when used simultaneously with phenytoin, it is necessary to control the level of phenytoin in the blood.

Levamisole should not be used simultaneously with lipophilic drugs such as tetrachloromethane, tetrachloroethylene, chenopodium oil, chloroform or ether, as the toxicity of levamisole may increase.
Method of use and dosage. For the treatment of helminthiasis, adults should be prescribed a single dose of 150 mg (1 tablet).

It is advisable to take the drug after a meal with a small amount of water, in the evening.

There is no need for laxatives or a special diet.

If necessary, repeat the treatment after a 7-14 day break.

Children. The drug in this dosage should not be used in children.

Overdose. When taking a large dose of levamisole (more than 600 mg), the following signs of intoxication were described: nausea, vomiting, lethargy, spasms, diarrhea, headache, dizziness and confusion.

Treatment: in case of accidental overdose – if not much time has passed after the intake – wash the stomach. It is necessary to monitor vital signs and carry out symptomatic therapy.

In case of signs of anticholinesterase effect, atropine can be administered as an antidote.
