Storage:

active substance: iodine;

100 ml of solution contain 5 g of iodine;

excipients: potassium iodide, ethanol 96%, purified water.

Pharmaceutical form. Solution for external use, alcohol.

Basic physico-chemical properties: red-brown liquid, transparent in a thin layer, with a characteristic smell.
Indication.

It is used externally as an antiseptic, irritant agent for infectious and inflammatory diseases of the skin and mucous membranes, for treating the surgical field, for the prevention of infection of small damage to the integrity of the skin, for reducing inflammatory processes in myositis, neuralgia (has a distracting effect).

Contraindication.

Increased sensitivity to iodine. The drug is also contraindicated in diabetic and trophic ulcers.
Method of application and dosage.

For external use, a cotton swab is moistened with iodine, which is used to treat the affected areas of the skin.

Children.

Do not use in newborns due to the possible risk of developing disorders of the thyroid gland and skin lesions.

Overdose.

In case of an overdose, the phenomena of iodism (runny nose, urticaria, Quincke’s edema, lacrimation, salivation, acne rashes on the skin), burns, skin irritation are possible.

The therapy is symptomatic.

Adverse reactions.

Runny nose, urticaria, Quincke’s edema, salivation and lacrimation, skin rashes, contact dermatitis are possible.

In the event of the appearance of any undesirable phenomena, it is necessary to consult a doctor.

Expiry date. 2 years.

The drug cannot be used after the expiration date indicated on the package.
