Lecrolyn is used to treat eye symptoms caused by allergies.
It works by stopping the release of natural substances such as histamine in the eyes that can cause allergic reactions. Signs of an allergic reaction include itching, watering, red or inflamed eyes, and swollen eyelids. Both eyes are usually affected. These symptoms usually occur in the spring or summer when pollens from grasses or trees enter the eyes of people who are sensitive to them.
